Keep the citation and any separate court or licensing notice together. Do not assume that all documents concern the same process. Ask counsel what each one requires.
Distinguish payable and must-appear matters.
The Maryland District Court distinguishes payable citations from violations that require an appearance. DUI and driving on a suspended license are examples identified in its must-appear guidance. Review the actual citation with the current court instructions.
